Hello Florida CattleWomen, Cattlemen, and anyone who loves the Cattle Industry! Florida CattleWomen has been blessed with a wonderful year of promoting the Beef Industry, through the many events held throughout this year. Florida CattleWomen participated in great beef promotions, educational opportunities, philanthropy projects, and helped out where needed, for example, staffing the concession stand at the Florida Cattlemen’s Ranch Rodeo Finals, in Kissimmee, FL. The truth is, Florida CattleWomen are a group of ladies who step up and become a great force in proclaiming a great industry “The Beef Industry.”
We had a great leader and role model this past year, in Mrs. Debbie Gill, as our President for 2019. She is a lady who set goals for our association and accomplished them with style and grace. What stands out in Debbie, she was able to bring ladies together and make them aware we all are the same, in keeping our home ranches going, promoting our industry, and being a friend to all. Debbie, through her leadership, was able orchestrate our Florida CattleWomen’s history on video for the whole world to view, as of this writing over 89,000 views on social media. Through Debbie’s preservation efforts, she was able to have placed in the Florida Cattlemen’s office, a cabinet of historical items that make up Florida CattleWomen’s history. Debbie was, and is above all, a friend to everyone. She always makes you feel special, and she has a caring spirit. We are so lucky to have Debbie among us.
As Debbie passed the President’s gavel to me at this past December’s Quarterly, I kept thinking, I sure do have big shoes to fill. One thing is for sure, I know Debbie is just a phone call away if I need her advice, encouragement, or a friend. Thank you Debbie, for your dedication and love to our association and the Beef Industry.
As I begin my journey as your Florida CattleWomen’s President, let me first say, I am beyond excited to be your Florida CattleWomen’s President. I look forward to the many beef promotions, beef educational events and fundraisers that are planned for this upcoming year. I am excited to unveil several new areas. We will be visible in the social media circles, one of those being the new Florida CattleWomen’s Blogging Site. This blogging site is just a click away from our Florida Cattlemen’s website. Through our blogging site, Florida CattleWomen will have another outlet to share our “Beef Story.” Stay tuned for other Florida CattleWomen social media outlets as they become available later this year.
I look forward to working with the Florida Beef Council, as we team up, promoting the “Beef Industry” through advertising and event promotions. I look forward to working with the Florida Cattlemen, as we strive to make this industry the best it can be. I look forward to working with you, my Florida CattleWomen sisters, as we strengthen our bonds as Florida CattleWomen. Please keep vigilant in the upcoming events and important information through this newsletter, (spring edition, coming out in April), the many emails and correspondence that will be coming and going, social media outlets, Facebook posts and blogs, the good old telephone, and the ever important face to face conversation. We, as Florida CattleWomen, must keep in contact with one another to keep our momentum going, our friendships strong, and our Beef Industry the most powerful industry it can be.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions, suggestions, or thoughts. I am here to serve you. My email address is: bdislkranch@yahoo.com.
